Men's 2s Water Polo
Created in the 2015 season, the Men's 2nds team had a fantastic debut with a 4th place finish in the league and an outstanding silver medal in the BUCS Conference Cup. Welcoming players of all abilities into the fold, the majority of the team had never played before starting at Bristol. Coaching The team is coached by members of the men's and women's 1st teams, aiming to impart their knowledge and experience to those wishing to play. Training Training for second-team players is a mixture of performance and social sessions. Those wishing to compete with the squad are required to attend two water polo sessions per week, as well as attending swimming sessions for fitness. Players are also advised to take part in land training and gym sessions outside of water work to boost their ability and performance. Competitions The main competition for the team is the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) competition which runs from October until just before Easter. There is also opportunity for local friendlies and tournaments as well as selection to play with the 1st team squad for those players aspiring to the very top level of play. |
